Sub-lieu­tenant Shivangi be­came the first woman pilot for the In­dian Navy on Mon­day. Born in Bi­har’s Muzaf­farpur, Shivangi was com­mis­sioned into the In­dian Navy last year af­ter her ini­tial train­ing. She joined op­er­a­tional du­ties at the Kochi naval base on Mon­day and will be fly­ing the Dornier sur­veil­lance air­craft of the In­dian Navy. “I have been crav­ing for this for a very long time and fi­nally the day is here. It’s a great feel­ing. I am look­ing for­ward to com­plet­ing my third stage of train­ing,” Shivangi added
