Covid cases in CAPFS near 5K-mark; BSF jawans donate plasma

NEW DELHI: The COVID 19 cases in Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFS) near 5,000-mark. According to paramilita­ry forces over 2,600 personnel have recovered from virus and 27 deaths were reported in which jawans were found infected with virus. In order to save people affected from COVID-19, nine Border Security Force (BSF) jawans, who recovered from Coronaviru­s, donated their plasma.

"Our troops, they are fighters. Warriors in the true spirit. They will never be beaten. They are always winners.we are sworn to service and duty. Not an easy thing to fathom, for it has to be engrained & imprinted into your psyche. To serve and to protect," a BSF official said. About 1,454 cases were reported in which 854 were recovered in BSF.

According to an official, four jawans succumbed to the virus whereas one personnel died in road accident but he was later tested positive for virus.

In last 24 hours, as many as 99 active cases were reported from Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). As per data, there are currently 941 active cases, 784 recoveries and nine deaths.

In CISF, there are 415 active cases while 643 personnel have recovered from the virus and eight deaths have been reported.

In ITBP, as many as 433 cases were reported since COVID-19 outbreak. There are 152 active cases while 279 have recovered. Three deaths were also reported from force. Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) witnessed 184 COVID-19 cases in which 133 recovered and 49 active cases are there in force. Two jawans died after they were infected by the virus.
