CBI nabs four SIS in extortion case
NEW DELHI: The CBI nabbed its four Sub-inspectors (SI) posted in Delhi on certain allegations and conducted searches at their premises, the officials informed on Thursday.
The accused CBI officials have been identified as SI Sumit Gupta, SI Pardeep Rana, SI Ankur Kumar, and SI Akash Ahlawat.
According to the officials, a complaint was received against their own officers that they demanded Rs. 25 lakh from a Chandigarh based businessman, the owner of the firm alleged that on Tuesday 6 persons including CBI officials entered his office and threatened him that he would be arrested for supporting and providing money to terrorists as they have information regarding the same.
It was further alleged that the accused forcefully took the Complainant in a car and demanded Rs 25 Lakh from him.
