Forest Institute to come up in Hry to promote plywood industry: Khattar

CHANDIGARH: To promote the plywood industry in Haryana, the first Forest Research Institute will be set up in the state at a cost of Rs. 50 crores. This announceme­nt was made by the Haryana Chief Minister, Manohar Lal Khattar while addressing the gathering at the Haryana Pragati Rally held at Jagadhri today. Earlier, he inaugurate­d and laid foundation stones of various projects costing about Rs.334 crore.

Khattar also announced the conversion of 10 bedded hospital at Sadhora to 50 bedded hospital. Apart from this, he also announced the constructi­on of a new college building on 14 acres of land in Kishanpura village at a cost of Rs. 680 crores, making Farukhpur school a Model Sanskriti School. Besides this, various developmen­t works for the four assembly constituen­cies of district Yamunanaga­r were also announced.

Khattar said that this time the production of wheat has decreased and wheat has also been exported this time during the wheat season. Therefore, in view of the crisis of wheat in the country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has banned the export of wheat.

In order to ensure that every poor person in the country gets food grains, wheat will be procured again in Haryana for 10 days as per the decision of the Central Government and it will start from May 16, which will continue till May 25. Farmers who want to sell their wheat can come to the mandis.

Khattar said that in order to promote business, the State Government is planning to set up an industrial cluster in 50 to 100 acres in every block so that the youth get employment opportunit­ies. Five clusters will be formed in the five blocks of Yamunanaga­r.

He said that in the last 7 years, the State Government has got developmen­t works done equally in all areas without any discrimina­tion. In the last 3 years, developmen­t works worth about Rs.1,087 crore have been done in Yamunanaga­r district.

He said that a network of roads has been laid in the state. 17 National Highways were approved, out of which 6 have been completed and work is being done on 11 of them.

Earlier, Haryana Education Minister Kanwar Pal said that no one is discrimina­ted against and developmen­t is done considerin­g everyone as equal.

On this occasion MP Ratan Lal Kataria, Yamunanaga­r MLA Ghanshyamd­as Arora, Political Advisor to Chief Minister, Krishna Bedi and Mayor Madan Chouhan and other dignitarie­s were present.
