PUZZLING TIMES

This is in reference to the news report, “Gyanvapi: Secure ‘shivling’ area but don’t stop Namaz, says SC”. I must say that the apex court is quite right in maintaining a balance between the contesting parties, presupposing that offering namaz cannot be stopped at this stage in spite of the fact that ‘shivling’ was found inside the Gyanvapi complex. Will the Hindu leaders demand for demolition of the complex? The days ahead will be a difficult time for the court to decide the next course of action, keeping in mind the communal aspect inherent in the issue. — ARUN GUPTA, KOLKATA via email
