DELHI POLICE BUSTS FAKE CALL CENTRE, ARRESTS EIGHT

NEW DELHI: In addition to the Delhi Police’s effort to crack down on the fake call centres, the cyber police station in the Northwest district recently busted such fraud syndicate with the arrest of eight accused persons, including one male and seven female. On Thursday, the Deputy Commission­er of Police (DCP) of the Northwest district Usha Rangnani said, “The fake call centre was cheating innocents on the pretext of providing private jobs in telecom companies of Rajasthan... The accused male is the main accused, who hired others as managers, executives or telecaller­s to perform different roles on a salary ranging from Rs 10,000 to Rs 14,000. They cheated more than 500 innocents in the last year.” She also confirmed that 10 mobile phones and documents were recovered from the premises of said fake call centre.
