Venkatasub­ramanian new P&G India CEO

Consumer goods major Procter and Gamble (P&G) India on Monday announced the appointmen­t of Kumar Venkatasub­ramanian as its new chief executive officer, from 1 May.

Venkatasub­ramanian, aged 48 years, will succeed L.V. Vaidyanath­an, who will step down after 28 years at P&G to pursue other interests. Vaidyanath­an, who assumed the role of CEO of P&G India on 1 July 2022, leaves behind a legacy known for brands such as Ariel,

Tide, Whisper, Olay, and Gillette.

Venkatasub­ramanian is an alumnus of IIM-Calcutta and started his journey with P&G’s sales team in India in 2000.

With over two decades of experience, a majority across different roles in the sales function, he leads P&G’s business in Australia as well as

New Zealand as the CEO. Prior to it, Venkatasub­ramanian was leading the sales team for P&G India until 2020.

P&G India comprises four separate entities including two large listed firms, Gillette India and P&G Hygiene and Health Care. P&G has invested more than ₹8,200 crore through its operations in India in the last decade. The company plans to invest ₹2,000 crore to set up a new personal healthcare manufactur­ing facility in Gujarat.
