Government to construct 44 roads along India-china border
New Delhi: The government will construct 44 strategic roads along the border with China, and over 2,100km of axial and lateral roads in Punjab and Rajasthan, abutting Pakistan, a Central Public Works Department document shows.
This is to ensure quick mobilization of troops in case of a conflict. The report comes at a time China is giving a priority to projects along its India borders. PTI services providers to declare their goods and services tax (GST) registration status in invoices. The measure would check the widespread practice of composition dealers charging GST from buyers and not depositing it with the exchequer, said an official.
Under GST composition scheme, traders and producers are required to pay only 1% GST on goods which otherwise attract a higher levy of either 5%, 12% or 18%. Such dealers are also not allowed to charge GST from the buyer. PTI
