BJP’S Mukul Roy, three others booked for TMC MLA’S killing
Kolkata: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Mukul Roy was among four people booked on Sunday in connection with the killing of Trinamool Congress (TMC) member of legislative assembly (MLA) Satyajit Biswas in Nadia district, police said.
Roy, on his part, said the decision to name him in the first information report (FIR) was “politically motivated”. A West Bengal Police officer told PTI that two of the four people named in the FIR have been arrested. PTI decision-making process on quota for economically weaker section (EWS) citing a clause of the Right to Information (RTI) Act that bars disclosure of records of Cabinet papers and discussions by ministers.
Venkatesh Nayak, who works with Commonwealth Human Rights Initiative (CHRI), had sought details like copy of Cabinet note on the matter and correspondence received from the Prime Minister’s Office in this regard. PTI
