Recently, the Starstell.com held its first award ceremony to discuss the outcomes of upcoming General Elections and about predictive sciences. My Mobile had a word with Vivek Dhir, Founder and CEO of Starstell.com.

Starting with your prediction that Narendra Modi will win 2019 General Elections with no major political setback. What made you to believe and predict the second term to NDA government? The prediction was made by a panel consisting of a top astrologer,

numerologist, Tarot card reader and an aura reader during the Starstell Awards event.

In a scientific temper, what is the future of online astrology when the mass is being

driven by data and numbers? Astrology or predictive sciences are of two kinds. One that are intuitive like Tarot or Aura reading and other like Vedic astrology that need detailed calculations with date, place and time of birth. This kind has been using technology for a long time for calculating and casting of the horoscope. Quite like the advanced diagnostic techniques have helped the medical professionals. But to analyse and interpret, the computer can’t replace the human for now.

Do the smartphone users; majority millennial, believe in astrology or it has reduced to be a niche concept for rich and influential? The millennial have as many if not more

problems. In this fast pace life, living away from family in many cases, chasing jobs and money, love and relationship and handling disappointments and breakups can be challenging. And knowing what is in store ahead is always alluring.

Starstell has also added healing and wellness to its predictive sciences portfolio. Would the next phase of growth lie there for you? Wellness is the key for a happy and fulfilling life. Any predictive technique may indicate the challenge ahead, but to deal with it, we may need help. We want to address this by bringing the practitioners on our platform www. Starstell.com for users to access.

How big is this industry at the moment and what would be changes that it requires to remain more justified for the youths? It’s a vast area. Our old texts like Ayurveda tell us a lot on how and what to eat like special diets, naturopathy for weight management or curing an illness etc., yoga on a physical or higher level, breathing techniques or meditation to achieve a body mind balance is all popular these days amongst the youth. Trained practitioners and healers help you with the process in a guided way.

Can predictive science be promoted as an alternative medicine? It’s not a medicine. It can at best forewarn you of challenges ahead. How you wish to deal with them is up to you.

We Indians hugely believe in astrology and numerology, vastu, etc. but with change in perception and more usage of scientific temper have prevailed over these. Is it a challenge for this industry? It varies from person to person. The modern education does paint it as some mumbo jumbo. But it is a well-researched and documented subject. And while many may not consult an astrologer in public, from the privacy of their home or office, they call on phone to talk to one.

“With availability of smartphones and data connectivity getting better and cheaper, the options for users have improved. Through an App, the content can be delivered in a more customised and interactive way”

You have been in business since 2005. What changes have you encountered and where do you see it going? With improved connectivity, more people are accessing services on phone. It’s only growing.

The growth of smartphone and internet penetration must have proven vital for you. Is that true? Yes. With availability of smartphones and data connectivity getting better and cheaper, the options for users have improved. Through an App, the content can be delivered in a more customised and interactive way. It’s also rich in visuals with graphics or video.

What would be its future when it collides with PUBG generation? To decode future is always a challenge and is the very genesis of development of predictive sciences. I guess we leave this question to be answered by those who can foretell. ■
