Oraimo studio Oeb h66d
Decent Budgeted Headset
With an aim to redefine the auditory experience, Transsion Holdings’ smart accessories brand oraimo has come up with a new budgeted headset -- Studio OEB H66D -- in India. Oraimo specialises in designing, manufacturing and retailing consumer electronics products. Priced at Rs 2,999, the headset is equipped with Bluetooth Version 4.2 and connects easily with any smart device. The company claims that the headset has 20 hours of play and talk time. The headset, in black colour, can be purchased from various mobile accessories and electronics stores across India. We got a chance to review this device, and here’s how it performed in different
departments.
Display
The headset is a low weighted device as it’s built is entirely out of plastic with premium black with silver accents.
But as far as the look is concerned, the headset looks heavy and sturdy. However, we found Studio OEB H66D to be classy that can be used or both business and informal purpose. The headset features round ear design and cushioned ear cups allowing for long music sessions without any hassles. Unfortunately, we found that the device caused a lot of sweat around ear. As it falls under the budgeted category, the headset features a microusb charging port. Having a Type-c connector would have made it future-proof. The buttons are located on the right side and they are quite responsive and approachable. To keep the buttons damage free, the company has used some premium rubber. The headset also has an AUX port which allows users to connect a 3.5mm audio jack.
Performance
The audio quality of the device is good, however, the disadvantage of the device is felt when you switch up the volume keys. While using the device with high volume, we discovered a fair amount of leakage from the headset as the music which I was listening to was also audible to my nearby people. That’s a major disappointment. The headset features Bluetooth v4.2 and the company claims that the Bluetooth to be active up to 10-metres of range. However, I felt it’s not the case as the audio quality broke down a few times even when usedwithin the range. So, I suggest you not to really go beyond this range or you may feel disappointed. Talking about the audio quality, the headset will not disappoint the users; just keep the volume keys down.
Functionalities
The control keys are quite easy to navigate around with and each button has multi-functional features. The volume up button can be used to switch to the previous song while the volume down button can be used to go to the next song. The power button can also be used to answer/ end a call with just a single click. The headphone offers good call quality and has an amazingly great microphone. While reviewing the device, we discovered that we could be clearly heard and hear the caller even in outdoor environments.
Battery
The headset comes with 500mah battery that serves up to 20-hours of playback and up to a whopping 200hour of standby time. I found this claim to be accurate as it lasted more than a day on single charge.
Conclusion
Priced at 2,999, the new Oraimo Studio OEB-H66D is definitely not an ideal headset but at this price point the device seems to a decent option for professionals as well as casual users. However, if you are looking for best, you can also search some other options in the market as there’s a lot of fishes in the sea. ■
