Global audio brand Jabra has come up with the Elite Active 45e wireless earphones in India. Targeted at runners, gymnasts and cyclists, the headset sports an ear hook design and waterproof earbuds. Priced at Rs 6,499, the Jabra Elite Active 45e comes in colours of Black, Navy and Mint. Let’s find out how it performs.
Design
The Jabra Elite Active 45e has an ear hook design which offers long-term wearing comfort and waterproof durability through an IP67 rating. The earphones weigh in at 29 grams and measure at 390 x 300 x 211mm when carried inside a case. The ear hooks and the wire connecting the earbuds together are silicone-coated. The control panels and earphones are made up of hard plastic. Each earphone has a control panel with one button on the face of it. The right earphone’s control panel features the Multifunction button which allows power on/off, Bluetooth pairing, play/pause music, and answer/end a phone call. The left earphone’s control panel has the Voice button that enables your voice assistant or mute/unmute a phone call. The tips of the earphones sport a fin. The right earbud houses the volume up and volume down controls.
Besides, there is an LED which turns green when you turn the headphones on and red when you turn them off. It turns blue when the headphones are in pairing mode. The left earbud houses the micro-usb port and an LED that shines red when the headphones are charging and green when they are fully charged.
Functionalities
The Elite Active 45e comes loaded with support for voice commands which means you can trigger Alexa, Google Assistant and Siri on your phones to make appointments, find nearby events or have your messages read to them. In order to support voice activation, the earbuds feature two MEMS microphones with effective noise reduction when making calls. The Jabra wireless earbuds are equipped with 12mm speakers which pack in a frequency range of 20 Hz-14 KHZ. It allows users to connect to the Jabra Sound+ app for customising music profiles, choose your voice assistant, track battery use and more. It comes with Bluetooth 5.0 for connectivity and thus offers a range of 10 metres with pairing to up to 8 devices. The headset is really great in terms of functionalities.
Performance
The audio quality of the Elite Active 45e is really good in highs, mids and lows. There’s clarity in voice and no distortion in the music.
