Huawei Maimang 8
Chinese technology giant Huawei has launched a new smartphone called the Maimang 8 in its home country. It features a waterdrop notch at CNY 1,899 (roughly Rs 19,000).
The dual-sim smartphone that features a 6.21-inch full-hd+ (1080x2340 pixels) display with 19.5:9 aspect ratio has been launched in two colour options -- Midnight Black and Sapphire Blue.
The smartphone is powered by the Kirin 710 octa-core SOC paired with 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage that can be expanded up to 512GB. The handset boots Android 9 Pie that is skinned with EMUI 9. There is GPU Turbo onboard for accelerated graphics performance.
The Huawei Maimang 8 features a triple rear camera setup.
It houses a 24MP primary sensor, a 2MP depth sensor and a 16MP sensor with an ultra-wide angle lens.
At the front, the notch houses an 8MP selfie shooter. The camera has Artificial Intelligence (AI) built in to recognise scenes and categories in real-time.
The photography features available on the handset include handheld super night scene, 8 kinds of smart scene recognition, 480fps slow-motion video shooting and more.
Measuring 155.2×73.4×7.95mm, the smartphone comes equipped with a rear mounted fingerprint sensor. The Huawei Maimang 8 is backed by a 3,400mah battery and offers 4G, VOLTE, 3G, Wifi, Bluetooth and GPS as connectivity options. ■
