Fun, engaging way to interact without typing much
In a bid to offer significant and thoughtful emoticons and reduce the usage of the keyboard, homegrown messaging application Hike Messenger has recently come up with Hike Sticker Chat — a personalised way for young Indians to express themselves while chatting with their near and dear ones. Founded by Kavin Bharti Mittal in 2012, Hike is a billion-dollar startup in terms of valuation. Till date, the company has raised $261 million. In August 2016, Hike raised its Series D round of funding led by Tencent and Foxconn at a valuation of $1.4 billion and managed to become one of the fastest to attain ‘unicorn’ status among Indian startups. The app has received a positive response in the market due to its quick turnaround time. The company says that it aims to bring Machine Learning (ML), infinite content creation and voice input — together to re-invent communication for a market like India and its ultimate mission is to reduce people’s dependency on the keyboard.
Hike Interface
Once you log in and launch the app, you will find a very clean and easy to understand interface in the white and blue colour background which delivers a soothing look. There are varieties of themes which you can select as per your choice, and thankfully, the app can also be used in the Dark Mode. At the bottom, you will see few tabs, such as Moments — where you can update your story, post on your profile. Another option Chat lets you find your peeps and chat with them. The third option, Stickers, has a variety of sticker suggestions that the company says it is powered by advanced ML algorithms.
Sub Features
Quick Follow: With this feature, once the user sends a Sticker, they can tap on it to find Stickers that the can ‘follow’ the previous one with.
Quick Reply: Tap on any sticker you send or receive to quickly reply or follow up with a relevant sticker.
Users simply need to tap on the sender’s sticker and they will find personalized sticker recommendations to reply with.
Text to Stickers: A fun way for users to turn their texts into a variety of vibrant stickers in real-time. Just type something and in case you don’t find a Sticker you like, you get a beautifully crafted Text to Sticker based on a combination of a few fonts and colours that the company automatically put together.
Swipe to Reply: The feature is an easy way that helps you to reply to all your messages and stickers you receive.
Star Message: The feature enables users to save messages that they can refer to them later.
