Chinese smartphone manufactur­er Realme’s Realme X is available in two storage variants for Indian consumers. The smartphone starts at Rs 16,999 for the base model with 4GB + 128GB, while the 8GB + 128GB variant is available at Rs 19,999.

As far as the cameras are concerned, the Realme X arguably looks better on paper. It also comes with a dual-camera system that includes a 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor and a 5MP secondary camera for portrait shots.

The smartphone flaunts a 6.53-inch FHD+ screen with 19.5:9 aspect ratio. There is a 3,765mah battery with support for VOOC Flash Charge 3.0.

The device comes with an octa-core (2.2GHZ dual-core Kryo 360 and 1.7GHZ Hexacore, Kryo 360) processor, which is seated upon the Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 chip. It has an Adreno 616 GPU and a 4GB RAM that enhance the overall user experience. Overall, it can deal with heavy games and multiple tasks together without any issues. In terms of connectivi­ty, the smartphone has 4G VOLTE enabled support. It also has Wi-fi, which features Mobile Hotspot, Bluetooth, GPS, USB Type-c, Mass storage device, USB charging, etc.

Keeping the new selfie trend in mind, Oppo has unveiled Oppo K3 that sports a dual-camera setup with the combinatio­n of a 16MP + 2MP camera sensor with an LED flash. At the front, there is a 16MP camera. In terms of performanc­e, this setup performs as good as the ones placed on the best of camera phones. In well-lit situations with lots of natural light, the phone’s primary camera clicks great landscape shots with a lot of detail in it.

The smartphone comes with a 6.5-inch FHD+ (2340x1080) Super AMOLED display. The display covers almost the entirety of the front, offering a near bezel-less screen. Overall, you get a 91 percent screen ratio, which looks pretty attractive. The display offers vivid and saturated colours and deep black levels. It’s a great display for watching content and playing games. The Oppo K3 also comes with Widevine L1 certificat­ion, which means you can stream movies and TV shows on platforms like Netflix and Prime Video in true HD resolution.

The Oppo K3 is priced at Rs 16,990 for the base variant that offers 6GB + 64GB while the 8GB +d 128GB is priced at Rs 19,990.

The dual-sim (Nano) Oppo K3 runs Android 9 Pie with Coloros 6.0 on top. It is powered by octa-core Snapdragon 710 SOC. Connectivi­ty options on the phone include 4G LTE, Wi-fi, Bluetooth, GPS/ A-GPS, and USB. Additional­ly, the Oppo K3 packs a 3,765mah battery that supports fast charging through Oppo’s VOOC 3.0.

According to the Counterpoi­nt Research released in July, the smartphone shipments in India grew to 37 million units, singledigi­t annually during the second quarter of 2019 setting a second-quarter shipment record.

“In India, the pricing sweet-spot for consumers has moved to Rs 10,000-20,000 price bands and it will remain the biggest contributo­r in the India smartphone segment this year,” Tarun Pathak, Associate Director, Counterpoi­nt Research, said in the report.

“Brands are focusing on bringing the latest premium level specificat­ions such as notch display, full-screen view and multiple rear cameras, pop up selfie feature and in-display sensor technology in this segment to stimulate consumer demand”, he added. ■
