There are a lot of industry players who want to try their hands on the Indian smartphone market. Recently, Chinabased Shenzhen Guowei Network Service Limited in collaboration with Golden Impex has launched three budget smartphones in India.

The company has launched models -- M1, M2 and M3 -- starting from Rs 5,000 and the price range goes up to Rs 8,000. We reviewed the M3 variant, priced at Rs 7,875 and here’s how it fared on our test.

Design

The smartphone looks good and trendy as it has a Waterdrop Notch that will surely woo the millennials. It weighs 160 grams with a dimension of 154.1x70.6x7.6. The glossy removable plastic back looks nice. However, the glossiness also adds a lot of smudge on the back panel after you use it. The volume and power keys are placed on the right, a headphone jack and microusb on the upper edge and a single speaker at the bottom edge. A selfie camera is placed in the upper front. The back panel has a dual camera set up with flash and a fingerprint sensor.

Display

The light weighted smartphone features a 6.08-inch IPS Display with Waterdrop Notch. The display with thin bezels is bright as we didn’t find any obstruction even while using the device under direct sunlight. The display is attractive and can surely woo many customers.

Camera

The dual-sim smartphone sports a 13MP+2MP autofocus primary dual camera setup with flash. There’s an 8MP camera for selfies. Pictures from the rear camera setup delivered decent images in the bright light condition. However, the pictures clicked in low light condition were average. The output from the selfie camera gave us satisfactory results.

Processor

The smartphone is powered by Mediatek Cortex A53 Quad-core processor coupled with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage that can be expanded up to 128GB. The smartphone is based on Android 9.0 operating system (OS). Connectivity options include 2G/3G/4G, music player, FM, dual-sim etc. Though we didn’t play many games or used the device rigorously, our usage indicated that the performance of the device was good with not much lag. The fingerprint sensor as well as face unlock feature works perfectly well.

Battery

The smartphone houses 3,300mah and can last over a day on not so rigorous use on a single charge. On our usage, which included 3G services, light games and a little videostreaming, the device lasted for around a day.

Conclusion

At Rs 7,875, the smartphone seems to be a decently priced device. There are high chances that this smartphone can gather a lot of audience infact, if you aren’t looking to spend a lot of money on a new smartphone, this device will surely work for you.
