XPG SUMMONER MECHANICAL KEYBOARD

Clicky, Colourful and Comfort in One

-

Are you getting bored at your workplaces or you might be tired of working at home since lockdown was imposed upon us? The same boring keyboards we keep pressing multiple times during the day. This is a keyboard which might change your perception on how it can be fun and innovative at the same time to use. We have XPG Summoner Gaming Keyboard by ADATA of Taiwan for you. Here is the teardown of the same.

Design

The uber-cool XPG Summoner Gaming Keyboard is a heavily designed mechanical keyboard. It is ideal for gamers and daily users. The keyboard has a premium feel that holds the users for long. There are 104 keys on the board having enough space for differentiation.

The mechanical keyboard has customised Cherry MX RGB keys that come preset with 7 lighting features. The backlight creates an aura while using that helps in breaking the conventional stereotyping about keyboards. The XPG Summoner comes with a magnetic wrist cushion for hands to rest on. This detachable pad provides great comfort and does not cause strain. Being a gaming pad, this is an added advantage to the Summoner. The volume roller is placed on the extreme right top which is quite easy to operate. You just have to scroll up and down for volume. The keyboard comes with a Type-c USB pass-through which helps in connecting to other peripheral devices easily like a mouse. It can be used in smartphones as well with Type-c ports. The media control buttons, from F10 to F12, are well defined and perform greatly. There’s a mute button as well near the volume roller. The power cable is made of a meshed fabric which makes it durable in the long run. The one thing I miss here on XPG Summoner is a direct sleep button.

Performance

The XPG Summoner performed very well upfront. The clicky sound makes it a unique thing to have at workplaces but, umm could be irritating for some who sits nearer to you. The speed is good and so is the precision of the keys. The gaming is a treat on this. There are plenty of customization around the keys to colour code them which comes very handy while gaming. The keyboard’s profiles are colorcoded. It can be dubbed Blue, Indigo, White, Green, and Yellow. The keyboard has the Red as default colour.

Conclusion

The XPG Summoner is like a breath of fresh air in the midst of boring conventional pads. Both, a normal user and a gamer, would be happy to own it. The customization it offers is unique and proves an asset during long hours.

The cushioned wrist rest is a treat to have. I am using it as my primary keyboard at work and I am impressed with it.

The volume roller and the RGB colour options make it stand apart in the market. The USB pass through is good for extra control if we plug in a mouse or our smartphone via Type-c cable. The Summoner sells at Rs 9,999 in India.n
