PIONEER CHAMPION SERIES TS-WX3000T
It’s a wild beast
Most of us love to have good music in our car while travelling to your respective offices, long drives or a road trip. For few it gives them peace and serves as a stress buster, while for many others it makes them feel active, depending upon the type of music.
So, if you are fond of listening to loud music in the car, then there’s good news for you as the Japanesebased audio components manufacturer Pioneer, known for offering leading in-car entertainment systems, has unveiled a new tube subwoofer in the Indian market.
The new subwoofer TSWX3000T is part of the brand’s Champion Series line-up and retails at Rs 9,990.
According to the company, the TS-WX3000T features new technologies offering enhanced bass for a great incar audio experience.
There are four main highlights of this audio powerhouse -- high durability, impeccable sound quality, robust design, and smooth airflow improvement.
We reviewed this subwoofer for 3-4 days and here’s how it performed.
Design
The subwoofer comes in a cylindrical shape with company branding in the centre. On one edge you will see the speaker, on the other, there’s a power port as well as vortex generator port. It is huge but light-weighted as compared to other subwoofers in the market. The overall weight of the gadget is 9 kilograms and the subwoofer has 4.5 kilograms and takes up a volume of 50.9 litres. And this makes it ideal to be placed in the boot of the car. The best part is that the subwoofers can also be placed behind or under the seat.
The tough exterior makes it ideal for rough outdoor use without the fear of getting damage. The cabinet is spacious to allow smooth
airflow movement. As a result, it makes the sound quality effortless and impeccable. This feature is further improved with the use of a vortex generator.
The subwoofer’s longevity is increased by using a new buttress ring that helps in improving its stability and linearity during periods of heavy usage or high volumes. The durability of the product is supported by an aluminium bobbin that improves heat absorption and power handling. The subwoofer also features a voice coil that is made out of high-grade material. This ensures that no deformation and drop-down is giving a clear sound. All these technologies enable the subwoofer to remain operational for longer hours without compromising on audio quality.
Performance
The punchy and profound sound quality of TS-WX3000T adds to the overall audio experience. It is 1.3 times louder than its contemporaries owing to the intensity of decibels and sound quality.
Its Sensitivity is rated at 88db producing a maximum power output of 1600W and the nominal power 500W.
It has a fine combination of design and new audio technology that helps attain this feat. The gadget not only has commendable loud bass sound quality but also ground-shaking output.
The subwoofer’s frequency response operates between 20Hz and 2.5khz. With tube bass reflex system, it improves its high-quality bass sound further. It is powerful enough to create low frequencies that can’t be produced from an OEM solution.
The cabinet is longer and larger than its contemporaries for it’s to keep the huge pole and magnet that enhances airflow. Also, the gadget has a louder bass boost and more pole handling due to the large pole dial and large magnet dial. This feature is further improved due to the vortex generator that reduces noise and allows for uninterrupted airflow. The vortex generator creates small vortices that trim out any disturbance in the airflow, giving it impeccable sound quality.
You can also install a subwoofer with infotainment system (but that’s totally optional) as it gives you a lot of other options too, such as connecting it with Alexa, Android Auto, Apple Carplay and a lot of other audio settings. The one that we reviewed had an infotainment system installed. The model number of the infotainment system is DMH-Z6350BT and it is priced at Rs 49,900.
Conclusion
Well, Pioneer needs no introduction over here, as they are among the oldest brands for audio systems.
Like that, it is definitely one of the best subwoofers currently available at this price point.
It’s a wild beast. The sound quality of this subwoofer is punchy and profound and can be an amazing company for your daily drives. Pioneer will compete with the new reflex tube subwoofer from Sony’s XS-GTX122LT box sub fur. Its sound output is 1350 W. ■
