mode which brightens dark spots and reduces overexposure in highlights. The selfie lovers will surely find the camera of the Vivo V20 SE very appealing. On the backside lies the triple rear camera sensors where the primary sensor is of 48MP which is the wide lens of the phone with an aperture of f/1.8. The secondary sensor is an ultrawide lens of 8MP with an aperture of f/2.2. The third sensor is a 2MP depth sensor with an aperture of f/2.4. The rear lens has a sharp and accurate focus which adjusts accordingly to deliver images of great quality and details. The daylight images were very good with proper color details and there was not over-saturation of the natural scenic beauty. The macro lens of the V20 SE captures images with very fine details without any stutter. The images captured at night were not as good as the daylight images but they maintain quite a good level of details like focussing on the subjects being captured. Vivo V20 SE also has AI image matting which you can use to edit your pictures like you can lift portraits out of images and edit them independently.

The rear camera can shoot 4K videos as well and the stabilization level of the videos captured was good. Vivo V20 SE offers one of the best cameras under the price range in which it falls.

Platform

Vivo V20 SE runs on Funtouch OS 11 based on Android

10. The new Vivo V20 SE is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 SOC processor. The processor has octa-core where four cores are clocked at 2.0 GHZ Kryo 260 Gold and the rest four cores are clocked at 1.8 GHZ Kryo 260 Silver. The processor is good or carrying out day to day tasks and while reviewing we did not come across any lag while multi-tasking or browsing. The GPU on board is Adreno 610 which lets you play games in their highest setting. The SDM 665 SOC processor to me seems not very promising as it is not that much capable of handling heavy tasks and intense gaming. Vivo could have gone with processors like 725, 730 to have better results. The RAM of the phone is quite impressive as it has 8GB RAM which allows smooth functioning of the processor. The internal storage of the phone is of 128GB and it is expandable up to 1TB as there is one dedicated slot for the microsd card.

Battery

Vivo V20 SE comes with 4,100mah battery power which is comparatively more than that of Vivo V20. With the average use of the phone, the battery lasts a day easily with one single charge but if you like to play games for long or to watch movies for like 4-5 hours then you have to plug in the charger to make the phone last a day. Vivo V20 SE has the same Flash charger of 33W which was there with the V20. The charger rapidly charges the phone completely within an hour.

Conclusion

The new Vivo V20 SE (special edition) counts as an attempt to consolidate on the success of V20. The smartphone fulfils the requirements of the midsegment buyers with decent performances. The triple rear cameras satisfy the needs of millennials, the octa-core chipset provides ample support in day-to-day life, and the AMOLED display adds benefits for binge watchers. The battery is there to help out a day of moderate use. Available around Rs 20,000, Vivo V20 SE makes a decent choice. ■
