Vivo Y52 5G

Vivo recently rolled out a new budget 5G phone for European markets. Dubbed the Vivo Y52 5G, the smartphone features a Mediatek chipset, a triple-camera setup and a big battery.

In terms of specs, the Vivo Y52 5G sports a 6.58-inch FHD+ display with a waterdrop notch. It is powered by the Mediatek Dimensity 700 SOC paired with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The phone runs Funtouch OS 11.1 based on Android 11. It comes packed with a 5,000mah battery with 18W fast-charging support.

On the camera front, the Vivo Y52 5G houses a triple-camera setup on the back with a 48MP sensor at the helm. The main camera sensor is paired with a 2MP depth sensor and a 2MP macro unit. Moreover, the notch in the front houses an 8MP sensor for selfies and video calls.

Connectivi­ty options on the handset include 5G, 4G LTE, a USB Type-c port, a microsd card slot, a headphone jack, and more. The device also features a sidemounte­d fingerprin­t reader. The Vivo Y52 5G is available in Dream Glow and Graphite Black colour options.

As for prices and availabili­ty, they are yet to be confirmed for European markets but the phone is offered in a single 4GB/128GB model. However, the Vivo Y72 5G, which recently arrived in Europe alongside the Vivo X60 Pro, is priced at EUR 299 (roughly Rs 26,700), suggesting the Y52 5G will be even cheaper.n

Lenovo-owned Motorola recently dropped a new Edge smartphone in China. The Motorola Edge S Pioneer Edition is a different colour variant of the Motorola Edge S, which was introduced earlier in January. The Edge S Pioneer Edition is a mid-range smartphone with a Snapdragon 800 series chipset, 5G, a quad-camera setup and a heavy-duty battery.

Talking about its technical specificat­ions, the Motorola Edge S Pioneer Edition sports a 6.7-inch FHD+ IPS LCD panel with a 90Hz refresh rate and HDR10 support. It is powered by the Snapdragon 870 SOC paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The handset comes equipped with a 5,000mah battery with 20W fast-charging support. The Edge S Pioneer Edition runs Android 11 with MYUI on top.

In the camera department, the Edge S Pioneer Edition opts for a quad-camera setup with a 64MP sensor at the helm. The other three camera sensors include a 16MP ultrawide lens, a 2MP depth sensor, and a TOF sensor. Besides, the phone also houses a 16MP main selfie camera and an 8MP ultrawide selfie shooter.

For connectivi­ty, it has Bluetooth 5.1, Wi-fi 6, 4G LTE, 5G, NFC, a USB Type-c port, a headphone jack, and more. The phone boasts a side-mounted fingerprin­t reader and an IP52 rating for splash resistance.

The Motorola Edge S Pioneer Edition is priced at CNY 1,999 (roughly Rs 22,600) for the sole 8GB/128GB variant. The standard Motorola Edge S was similarly priced, although the base variant featured 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. There’s no informatio­n about the phone’s internatio­nal availabili­ty yet.n
