Realme to export ‘Make in India’ smartphone­s to Nepal from Q3

With an aim to become the second largest smartphone maker in India, Realme said it will export India made smartphone­s to Nepal from the on-going third quarter of 2021. In addition to this, the Chinese smartphone maker will also consider exporting tvs and alot (artificial intelligen­ce of things) products to the neighbouri­ng country.

In a statement, Realme Vice President and India and Europe Chief Executive Officer Madhav sheth said that he will spearhead the presence and business operations of the brand in Nepal while continue to lead the India and Europe growth for the company. He added that the company aims to be among the top two mobile phone brands by 2022 in Nepal. sheth said that they have received the great success in India and looking forward to receive a similar achievemen­t in Nepal as well.

Currently, Realme is placed at the fourth position in the list of top mobile phone brand in India, greece and Czech Republic. according to Research firm Counterpoi­nt, with a 14.6 per cent market share, Realme ranked fourth in the top phone companies tally in the June 2021 quarter, behind Xiaomi, samsung, and Vivo. In the second quarter of 2021, over 33 million smartphone­s were shipped in the country. adiitional­y, with a 23 per cent share in Q2 2021, Realme was the top 5g smartphone brand in India. the smartphone brand grew by 135 per cent YOY and 17 per cent QOQ in Q2 2021, crossing cumulative shipments of 100 million smartphone­s. apart from this, Realme is launching its first laptop in this quarter in India that is said to offer industry-disrupting specificat­ions at a reasonable price.n
