Google says that car owners should instead use the Google Assistant driving mode, which is available within the Google maps app. Or, use the native Android Auto interface available on cars that support it. However, Google has also assured us that this will not change the experience of anyone using Android Auto while driving the car. the company has now confirmed that the feature will no longer work once Android 12 is out. Android Auto on phone screens has not really been updated in a while and was mostly kept as a legacy experience intended for users who were used to the interface.
