Netflix acquires game creator Night School Studio

Popular OTT platform Netflix has bought its first game developer Night School Studio and rolled out five mobile gaming titles in select European markets. The streaming giant announced the deal on its website. Night School Studio, best known for its debut game – Oxenfree - a supernatural teen thriller with an eerie soundtrack, confirmed the purchase separately on its own site, saying it is “a surreal honor to be the first game studio to join Netflix.” The studio’s games, available on Sony’s Playstation, Nintendo Switch, Microsoft’s Xbox and PCS, will be the first non-mobile titles in video game portfolio of Netflix. Last month, Netflix Gaming made its debut in Poland with two Stranger Things mobile games.
