Mark Zuckerberg warns against screenshotting Facebook Messenger chats

-

Mark Zuckerberg has issued a reminder, and an apparent warning, to users of Facebook messenger who screenshot their chats. The Facebook founder and CEO of parent company Meta said in a post that an update to messenger would notify users if their chat has been screen-shot by another person. In a post, Zuckerberg showed how this will look by sharing a conversation between himself and his wife Pricilla Chan. Vanish Mode was announced in last November, with the company revealing it would be hitting Messenger and Instagram in the US ‘soon’ before being rolled out to other countries at a later date. It allows users to set a timer on how soon they want their message to disappear. In a post from August last year, the company explained that they have also updated the expiring message feature within our end-to-end encrypted chats. Rival messaging apps, including Snapchat, already allow users to set their messages to self-destruct after a few hours.
