Snapchat, Niti Aayog to train 12,000 teachers in AR

Snap, the parent company of popular app Snapchat has partnered with Niti Aayog to train 12,000 Indian teachers in augmented reality. To drive the adoption of AR solutions in the country, Snap will train teachers over the course of the next two years. In addition, Snap also announced partnershi­ps with India’s startup ecosystem through Atal Incubation Centers (AICS) with boot camps for AR advertisin­g and ad credits. So far, the Snap Lens Network of creators in India has grown by over 200% since September, IANS reported. Snap has also launched “Lensathon” to boost the participat­ion of young women and girls above 13 who may be interested in augmented reality. The company is expected to undertake numerous workshops hosted by Women Lens Creators. Advanced sessions will be carried out by members of the Snap Lens Network.
