Louis Berger bags Metro-4 contract in Mumbai
Louis Berger, a part of DB Engineering-led consortium and an US-based firm’s Indian unit, has bagged a contract for project and construction management services for the Metro-4 (Wadala-Thane-Kasarvadavli) corridor. As part of the consortium that includes DB Engineering and Hill International, Louis Berger will prepare, package and finalize tender documents for system contracts. The 32.32-km-long metro will connect Wadala in central Mumbai and the neighboring Thane district via the Eastern Express highway.
Kochi metro floats tenders for Pettah-SN metro stretch
Kochi Metro Rail Limited (KMRL) is all set to start the construction of its first metro line, with the agency inviting tenders from design consultants for the 1.50-km PettahSN Junction (Thripunithura) metro stretch.
TATA-CHEC wins ₹1,048-cr Wadala-Kasaradavali metro contract
The Joint Venture of TATA Projects Limited and China Harbour Engineering Company (TPLCHEC) have secured a letter of award (LoA) for the construction of two packages of the Mumbai Metro Elevated Line 4. For the packages, which lie on the line extending between Wadala & Kasaradavali, the combined investment for both packages is ₹1,048 crore and requires the contractor to design and construct 14 elevated stations with a viaduct of 12.5 km to improve connectivity with Thane.
RInfra wins ₹774-cr Jimidipeta-Gotlam rail line contract
Reliance Infrastructure, a renowned infra builder, has recently received the Letter of Award (LOA) from Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) for its maiden railway project worth ₹774 crore for the construction of third rail line between Jimidipeta and Gotlam on East Coast Railway on EPC model. The 105 km-long line will run in Andhra Pradesh and Odisha.
DFCCIL awards ₹2,864-cr contract to L&T
Recently, the Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Ltd. (DFCCIL) has awarded ₹2,864-crore contract to Larsen & Toubro (L&T) to construct 222 km route of a single-track corridor from Khurja to Pilkhani in Uttar Pradesh. The dedicated freight corridors project will be funded by World Bank (WB). Khurja to Pilkhani route is a part of the 1,856 km Eastern Corridor proposed between Ludhiana (Punjab) and Dankuni (West Bengal).
MMRDA unveils ₹3,600cr Mira-Road-Bhayander metro corridor
The bidding process for the construction of a Metro corridor in Mira-Road and Bhayander connecting with Dahisar is all set to start very shortly. The 9-km-long Dahisar checknaka Bhayander Metro corridor known as Metro-10 is being constructed by the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) at an estimated cost of ₹3,600 crore, official sources said.
Delhi clears three more metro rail corridors
In a move to fast track DMRC‘s Phase-IV project, the Delhi government has recently cleared three of the six proposed corridors including Janakpuri West-R K Ashram (28.92 km), Mukundpur-Maujpur (12.54 km) and Lajpat Nagar-Saket G Block (7.96 km). These lines will touch areas, including Burari, Yamuna Vihar, Paschim Vihar, Rohini East, Mukarba Chowk and Andrews Ganj, Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot said.
Haryana steers clears ₹350-cr elevated rail line
In a first of its kind rail project in the country, Haryana and Indian Railways have recently launched India‘s first ever elevated railway line in Rohtak at an investment of ₹350 crore. The project, which is expected to be completed in the next 18 months, is the new elevated railway track ending the major problem of traffic jams across Rohtak city.
Haryana hastens 400-km rail projects across state
The Haryana government recently announced a new joint venture company with the ministry of railways in the name of Haryana Rail Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (HRIDC) for laying about 370-km of rail track across the state.
IRSDC invites bids to rebuild ₹656-cr stations
The Indian Railway Stations Development Corporation Ltd (IRSDC) has invited proposals to redevelop three railway stations—one in Chandigarh and two in New Delhi—at a cost of ₹656 crore as part of the government‘s $1 trillion station modernization drive. The nodal agency for the program in a statement said that the work at the Chandigarh station will involve ₹140 crore investment and be carried in two years; the stations at Bijwasan and Anand Vihar in New Delhi costing ₹310 crore and ₹206 crore, respectively.
MRVC launches ₹880-cr station upgrade
The Mumbai Rail Vikas Corporation (MRVC) in an attempt to decongest stations for smooth passenger movement across 19 stations on the suburban rail network being upgraded at an investment of ₹880 crore. These stations will be redesigned for seamless passenger movement as part of the station improvement project.
NBCC starts ₹1,580-cr reconstruction of station
The NBCC, which has recently secured the railway station redevelopment project in Lucknow at an investment of ₹1,580 crore, has recently started the construction work of the Gomti Nagar & Charbagh Railway Stations at Lucknow. The construction cost of Phase 1 is approx. ₹374 crore and ₹1206 crore for Gomti Nagar and Charbagh respectively.
Airport Metro gets ₹310-cr extension to Dwarka
To connect the upcoming Exhibition cum Convention Centre (ECC) in Dwarka Sector 25, DMRC has started extending the high-speed Airport Express Line deeper into Dwarka with the construction work of an underground stretch at an investment of ₹310 crore set to start very shortly. The metro corridor, which currently running between New Delhi metro station and Dwarka Sector 21, is being extended up to the Convention Centre. The length of the proposed extension is 1.7km with standard gauge, DMRC, spokesperson said.
Haryana launches ₹125 cr housing projects
The Haryana Housing Board (HHB) has recently launched the construction work on the three housing societies in Sector 31, Panchkula, under the Prime Minister Awas Yojna for building 711 flats to be handed over to people who have applied for housing units under the scheme. The project will be completed by 2022 and entailed an investment worth Rs 125 crore, secretary of HSB, Randhir Singh, said.
Sobha sharpens ₹500 cr housing plan in Gujarat
Sobha Developers has recently said that it will invest ₹500 crore on a housing project in the state and investment will be made in residential development in Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City), chairman Ravi Menon, said, claiming that the Bangalore-based firm plans to build nearly 1,000 apartments in the GIFT City which is spread over 886 acres.
Embassy Group unveils ₹2,000 cr project
Embassy Group is all set to launch 6 million sq ft commercial space realty project at Embassy TechVillage in Bengaluru at an investment of ₹2,000 crore. The project in question is the next phase of construction of the IT Park, encompassing a development area of 12 million sq.ft. The company has already completed nearly 4.5 million sq.ft. development and will be finishing 1.5 million sq.ft. more by this year end, taking the total development to 6 million sq.ft.
NBCC unfolds ₹10,000 cr housing plan
The project management consultancy company NBCC is planning to build over 1 lakh affordable houses on its own land parcels, plots owned by the government and public sector undertakings, said Chairman, Anoop Kumar Mittal, claiming that it is looking to build these houses over the next five years to support the government’s stated objective of Housing for All by 2022. These projects entailed a whopping investment worth ₹10,000 crore and score of them would start this year itself.
Unity Group unveils ₹3,000 cr realty venture
The NCR-based realty firm, Unity Group, in a recent move has decided to invest about ₹3,000 crore to develop a housing project at Karol Bagh in the central parts of Delhi, director, Harsh V Bansal, said, elaborating that the group is developing this project in joint venture with DCM Group. The land parcel was earlier used by the DCM Group for housing accommodation of workers in Delhi Cloth Mills.
TVS unveils 14-storey luxury residential project
TVS Emerald has planned new residential project, TVS Emerald, the real estate arm of TVS Group, has announced its newest residential housing project, LightHouse, which will come up on PallavaramThoraipakkam radial road in southern fringes on the outskirts of Chennai. The proposed 14-floor luxury project will comprise 279 homes of 1, 2 and 3 BHK apartments wherein the builder will offer various amenities.
MahaMetro plans 13 realty projects along Nagpur metro line
In a move that will alter the real estate scene in and around the Nagpur city, the MahaMetro launching 13 mega real estate projects. Out of the targeted projects, six have already been sanctioned and the construction work is set to start very shortly. These projects are spreading across the city as the MahaMetro is banking on easy accessibility of these projects for response from potential customers. MahaMetro will build two tallest buildings in the city — 25-storey towers — opposite Yeshwant Stadium in Dhantoli and Kasturchand Park.
Bharti Realty plans ₹2,500cr mall near IGI airport
Bharti Realty, which is a part of the Sunil Mittal Group, is planning to construct one of the biggest retail malls of NCR at Aerocity near IGI airport in New Delhi with a leasable space of 2.5 million square feet, CEO of Bharti Realty, S K Sayal said that the company already taken 23 acres on lease from the Delhi International Airport Private Limited for the purpose. He said the mall is likely to be completed by 2022.
ARE wins 18-storey high residential tower contract
The Chennai-based Appaswamy Real Estates has recently sealed ₹400 crore deal with True Value Homes (TVH), another city-based developer, to develop 19-storey residential structure at Kotturpuram, claimed sources, adding that the deal had been concluded and Piramal Fund would advance over ₹200 crore to Appaswamy Real Estates to fund the upcoming project with a high-end residential project at the site.
ATIL floats bids for 15-acre realty project
Aurangabad Industrial Township Limited (AITL), a special purpose vehicle between the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) and the DMIC, has invited bids from reputed developers for AITLs housing project at Auric. ShendraBidkin DMIC node is part of the Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC) between Delhi and Mumbai covering 1,483 km and passing through six states.
ATS realty launches ₹2,000 cr housing venture
The real estate firm ATS launched a new venture HomeKraft to develop mid-income and affordable housing projects at an investment of ₹2,000 crore over the next five years to build about 6,500 units across major cities. Affordable housing has gained an added momentum on the back of interest subsidy offered by the government and lower GST rates. HomeKraft will develop homes of size ranging from 950 sq.ft. to 1,600 sq.ft. where the size of the flat is lower than 1,600 sq.ft. and will be offered to customers, said chairman and founder Getamber Anand, who is also the chairman of realtors' body CREDAI.
