GVK seals ₹16,000 cr airport funding deal
GVK Power and Infrastructure has achieved financial closure for Navi Mumbai International Airport project entailing an investment of ₹16,000 crore. In this connection, GVK-led Navi Mumbai International Airport had inked the concession agreement with CIDCO for the green field airport project in January this year, Executive Chairman of Mumbai International Airport Ltd and Navi Mumbai International Airport, GVK Reddy said, adding that the company has achieved the financial closure on schedule and move will now enable to focus on the next steps.
Jewar airport to get dedicated metro corridor
An elevated road, a Rapid Rail Transport System (RRTS) network and a dedicated direct Metro corridor from Indira Gandhi International Airport to Jewar are among the other connectivity projects that Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has planned for the international airport. The foundation stone for the dedicated metro corridors is slated to be laid in October this year.
Chennai airport worth ₹2,476 cr gets clearance
The Phase II of the modernization of Chennai airport entailing an investment of ₹2,476 crore has secured eco clearance where expansion will be carried out within the existing airport premises without the need for additional land acquisition, said sources, that the passengers' capacity after modernization will be 30 million per annum. The project involves demolishing and reconstructing the existing old domestic and international terminals with additional 16 million passengers per annum (MPPA).
Paradip Port pushes ₹35-bn infra projects
The Paradip Port Trust (PPT) has taken up ₹35.44 billion infra projects across sectors including roads and highways. The city, which is spreading over 700 acres, includes a multi-modal logistics park (MMLP) committed by Container Corporation of India (Concor), a four million ton per annum pellet plant by Thriveni Earthmovers, a wood park and a dedicated food park for edible oils, said an industry insider.
GMR Group secures ₹2,123 cr port project in AP
The state government in Andhra Pradesh has selected GMR group for the development of commercial port at Kona village of Thondangi mandal in East Godavari district under public-private partnership (PPP) mode at an investment of ₹2,123 crore. The Letter of Award (LoA) will be issued to the selected bidder - Kakinada SEZ Limited - after receipt of the security clearance from Union Ministry of Home Affairs, AP Ports officials said.
L&T takes up ₹1,300 cr Chennai airport project
Larsen and Toubro (L&T) has recently secured the contract for the construction of the Chennai airport in the second phase of development at an investment of ₹1,300 crore. For the project, which will be completed in the next 42 months, construction work has already been initiated.
Port connectivity gets ₹6,688 cr booster in AP
The Central and state government of Andhra Pradesh have recently laid foundation stones for national highway and port connectivity development projects at a whopping investment of ₹6,688 crore. The projects included capacity augmentation and six-laning of the NH16 stretches from Icchapuram to Anakapalli at a total cost of ₹4.989 crore, besides two projects were also launched at ₹ 549 crore and ₹ 679 crore, respectively.
