GVK seals ₹16,000 cr air­port fund­ing deal

GVK Power and In­fra­struc­ture has achieved fi­nan­cial clo­sure for Navi Mum­bai In­ter­na­tional Air­port project en­tail­ing an in­vest­ment of ₹16,000 crore. In this con­nec­tion, GVK-led Navi Mum­bai In­ter­na­tional Air­port had inked the con­ces­sion agree­ment with CIDCO for the green field air­port project in Jan­uary this year, Ex­ec­u­tive Chair­man of Mum­bai In­ter­na­tional Air­port Ltd and Navi Mum­bai In­ter­na­tional Air­port, GVK Reddy said, adding that the com­pany has achieved the fi­nan­cial clo­sure on sched­ule and move will now en­able to fo­cus on the next steps.

Je­war air­port to get ded­i­cated metro cor­ri­dor

An el­e­vated road, a Rapid Rail Trans­port Sys­tem (RRTS) net­work and a ded­i­cated di­rect Metro cor­ri­dor from Indira Gandhi In­ter­na­tional Air­port to Je­war are among the other con­nec­tiv­ity projects that Ya­muna Ex­press­way In­dus­trial De­vel­op­ment Au­thor­ity (YEIDA) has planned for the in­ter­na­tional air­port. The foun­da­tion stone for the ded­i­cated metro cor­ri­dors is slated to be laid in Oc­to­ber this year.

Chennai air­port worth ₹2,476 cr gets clear­ance

The Phase II of the mod­ern­iza­tion of Chennai air­port en­tail­ing an in­vest­ment of ₹2,476 crore has se­cured eco clear­ance where ex­pan­sion will be car­ried out within the ex­ist­ing air­port premises with­out the need for ad­di­tional land ac­qui­si­tion, said sources, that the pas­sen­gers' ca­pac­ity after mod­ern­iza­tion will be 30 mil­lion per an­num. The project in­volves de­mol­ish­ing and re­con­struct­ing the ex­ist­ing old do­mes­tic and in­ter­na­tional ter­mi­nals with ad­di­tional 16 mil­lion pas­sen­gers per an­num (MPPA).

Paradip Port pushes ₹35-bn in­fra projects

The Paradip Port Trust (PPT) has taken up ₹35.44 bil­lion in­fra projects across sec­tors in­clud­ing roads and high­ways. The city, which is spread­ing over 700 acres, in­cludes a multi-modal lo­gis­tics park (MMLP) com­mit­ted by Con­tainer Cor­po­ra­tion of In­dia (Con­cor), a four mil­lion ton per an­num pel­let plant by Thriveni Earth­movers, a wood park and a ded­i­cated food park for ed­i­ble oils, said an in­dus­try in­sider.

GMR Group se­cures ₹2,123 cr port project in AP

The state gov­ern­ment in Andhra Pradesh has se­lected GMR group for the de­vel­op­ment of com­mer­cial port at Kona vil­lage of Thon­dangi man­dal in East Go­davari district un­der pub­lic-pri­vate part­ner­ship (PPP) mode at an in­vest­ment of ₹2,123 crore. The Let­ter of Award (LoA) will be is­sued to the se­lected bid­der - Kak­i­nada SEZ Lim­ited - after re­ceipt of the se­cu­rity clear­ance from Union Min­istry of Home Af­fairs, AP Ports of­fi­cials said.

L&T takes up ₹1,300 cr Chennai air­port project

Larsen and Toubro (L&T) has re­cently se­cured the con­tract for the con­struc­tion of the Chennai air­port in the sec­ond phase of de­vel­op­ment at an in­vest­ment of ₹1,300 crore. For the project, which will be com­pleted in the next 42 months, con­struc­tion work has al­ready been ini­ti­ated.

Port con­nec­tiv­ity gets ₹6,688 cr booster in AP

The Cen­tral and state gov­ern­ment of Andhra Pradesh have re­cently laid foun­da­tion stones for na­tional high­way and port con­nec­tiv­ity de­vel­op­ment projects at a whop­ping in­vest­ment of ₹6,688 crore. The projects in­cluded ca­pac­ity aug­men­ta­tion and six-lan­ing of the NH16 stretches from Ic­cha­pu­ram to Anaka­palli at a to­tal cost of ₹4.989 crore, be­sides two projects were also launched at ₹ 549 crore and ₹ 679 crore, re­spec­tively.
