Sqoop becomes an Apache top level project

The Apache Software Foundation (ASF) has announced that S oop, the data transfer tool for Apache adoop, has graduated from the Apache Incubator to become a Top-level Project (TLP). The S oop Project has demonstrated its maturity by graduating from the Apache Incubator, explained Arvind Prabhakar, vice president of Apache S oop. With jobs transferring data, S oop is proving its value as a critical component of production environments, he said. S oop entered the Apache Incubator in June last year. It was soon embraced as an ideal Sql-to- adoop data transfer solution.
