Now Ubuntu for eyewear!
You have seen Ubuntu on desktops and televisions but now this open source platform is venturing into an entirely new domain -- the eyewear segment. Making an announcement about this on its of cial website, Canonical termed this innovation as a ‘Groundbreaking face-mounted productivity solution’. This innovation, based on Ubuntu, is set to replace cumbersome PCS and smartphones with a single, lightweight device and will provide lucrative opportunities for software vendors, opticians and eyewear manufacturers.
Commenting on the innovation, the company says, Miniaturisation has come a long way. Back in the 60s, computers lled whole rooms. By the 0s, they could t on your desktop. In the 0s we got used to carrying our PCS around and, in the last decade, the smartphone has made pocket productivity a daily reality for knowledge workers across the globe. Now, with Ubuntu for Eyewear, Canonical introduces a new class of personal productivity devices, so unobtrusive that neither you nor your coworkers need even know they are there.
