Ruby creator recognised with Free Software award
Yukihiro Matsumoto (a.k.a. Matz), the creator of the uby programming language, won the award for the Advancement of Free Software at the recently held Free Software Foundation’s Libre Planet conference in Boston. The award recognises an individual who has made a great contribution to the progress and development of free software, through activities that are in accord with the spirit of free software. Luis Falcon bagged the FSF’S award for Projects of Social Bene t on behalf of GNU Solidario for its GNU ealth project.
