Now, measure your blood pressure and ECG with Swasthya Slate!
Imagine a tablet that can monitor your ECG and measure your heart rate, besides various other medical functions. This idea has been turned into reality by Kanav Kahol, a Us-educated Indian biomedical engineer.
Swasthya Slate ( ealth Tablet), created by Kahol, is being dubbed as a rst-of-its kind diagnostic tool. The tablet can record body temperature, conduct an ECG test, test blood sugar levels and blood pressure, measure your heart rate and also test the uality of water.
Software veri cation and validation has shown that the readings recorded on the tablet are . 4 per cent accurate. The information can also be stored on a local le, which can be uploaded onto a server. A ‘demographics system’ has also been developed to store the patient’s details.
The Swasthya Slate can capture ECG data at 1,000 z and is capable of providing enough information to make clinical judgements.
An interface between the device and blood pressure/ blood sugar machines is also under development. Kahol is also mulling over incorporating diabetes and cardiovascular screening software. The Swasthya Slate is likely to be ready for launch in the next three months.
