When we translate words like India, we prefer the more common ,ndic equivalenW of Bharat, or iWs variaWions (variaWion 2, below) raWher Whan a WransliWeraWion of ,ndia (variaWion 1, below). Similarly, when counWry names include the direction names, it is better to translate the direction name Wo Whe local language.
