The sub-Rs 10,000 price segment is flooded with a lot of Android-powered devices that offer good value for money. Lava, which has come out with affordable smartphone­s in the past, has now launched yet another budget-friendly device –the Lava Iris 503. This is the successor to the Iris 502, which was launched in February 2013. Priced at Rs 9,999, the smartphone boasts of a 12.7cm (5-inch) qHD IPS display with a resolution of 540 x 960 pixels. Powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor along with 512 MB of RAM, the Lava Iris 503 runs on Android 4.2. The smartphone comes fitted with a rear 5 MP camera and a front 1.2 MP camera. Shares S.N. Rai, co-founder and director of Lava Internatio­nal Ltd, “Functional­ity and high performanc­e are the need of the hour in a gadget, and this smartphone is designed to cater to the demands of consumers who are looking for a decent product at an economical price.”
