Mozilla releases Firefox 26 with Java plug-ins
Firefox 26, the latest offering from Mozilla, comes with Java plug-ins, which will put you in control first and then secure your system. Bang on schedule, the latest release of Mozilla Firefox is now available for download.
One of the key features of Firefox 26 is the way Java plug-ins are handled. From now onwards, you will only load Java plug-ins on a ‘Click to Play’ basis, or when you specifically set a plug-in to ‘always run’ on certain websites. Prior to this, Firefox automatically loaded Java when a site asked for it.
Mozilla says that this on-demand approach to plug-ins puts users in control, along with providing ‘performance, stability, and security benefits.’ The new free and open source browser also adds support for H.264 on Linux, a Social Bookmarking feature through the Social API, and a new app manager to help developers test Web apps on Firefox OS.
