Two new versions for Linux Mint 16 released

Two new Linux distributions have reportedly been announced by the team that created Linux Mint. These include Linux Mint 16 Cinnamon and the Linux Mint 16 MATE distributions. Both distros are currently available for download.

Reports say that it took the team six months to work on the Linux Mint 16 Petra. The new distros are supposedly improvements on the latest and best in the field of open source technologies. The team has reportedly made changes to the log-in screen, USB stick support, software manager, artwork, performance, and made improvements to the main components of the system.

The Cinnamon and MATE editions of the Linux Mint 16 distribution can be downloaded from the Internet. The release notes are also available.
