OpenKM

-

OpenKM is available in two different variations—OpenKM community edition under the GNU GPL v2, while OpenKM Cloud helps organisations share and manage information better, yet without investing heavily. It is available across all platforms such as MacOS X, Windows and Linux.

Users can access the OpenKM application through a variety of browsers such as Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Opera, Firefox and Safari, because it implements a Web 2.0 user interface framework based on Google Web Toolkit. Mobile UIs are also supported. Content Management Interoperability Services protocol, an OASIS open standard, allows integration with a variety of document management systems and repositories. OpenKM uses the Spring Framework and, hence, Spring Security centralises access management based on credentials. In addition to this, it can be easily integrated with most anti-virus products. The OpenKM Core centralises the management and processing logic for documents, folders, emails and records, and a combination of metadata structures. It also uses the JBPM workflow engine for workflow management. It uses Hibernate for Object Relation Mapping and supports Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MS SQL Server, DB2, etc. OpenKM uses the very popular search engine, Lucene.
