Audacious

Audacious is the default music player for Lubuntu and Ubuntu Studio. William Pitcock is the founder of this project. It is a very lightweight and fast music player. It requires less computer memory and processing time.

Its first release was on October 24, 2005. It has been completely written in C, and is based on X Multimedia System (XMMS), via the GTK+ 2.x port of Beep Media Player.
