Turning off the log-in message
If you connect to a Linux machine (e.g., Ubuntu) from another machine via ssh, you would have noticed that it prints information or a series of messages before presenting the command prompt.
Although such information can be useful, it gets annoying if you connect very often.
You can turn these messages off by running the following simple command:
touch ~/.hushlogin
From the next time, you will be directly presented with the prompt!
If you want to get the messages back, simply delete the .hushlogin file.
