Zentyal Server 4.1 launched
The Zentyal development team has announced the release of Zentyal Server 4.1, which aims at offering a Linux based server to businesses (with mail, a domain and directory, basic networking, a firewall and infrastructure), and can be set up in less than 30 minutes. It is supposedly both easy-to-use and affordable, offering full native Microsoft Outlook compatibility.
This release is completely focused on improving the stability and the feature set delivered by the OpenChange module, based on Ubuntu 14.04.2 LTS.
To migrate from Zentyal 4.0 to 4.1, users only need to upgrade the 4.0 installation to the last available packages once they are released, and a button will appear on the dashboard.
Zentyal Server comes with native Microsoft Exchange protocol implementation and Microsoft Active Directory interoperability. The 4.1 edition comes in two different flavours— the open development version (formerly known as the community edition) for bleeding edge testing of the latest available features, and a stable commercial version for production environments (fully tested and stable, qualityassured software updates and with commercial support).
