An­droid Things is the next big thing from Google

Af­ter play­ing a suc­cess­ful round in the smart­phones arena, Google has now en­tered the ring of con­nected de­vices with its lat­est de­vel­op­ment, An­droid Things. This new plat­form is specif­i­cally de­signed to meet the grow­ing de­mands of In­ter­net of Things (IoT) us­ing An­droid.

“Now, any An­droid de­vel­oper can quickly build a smart de­vice us­ing An­droid APIs and Google ser­vices while stay­ing highly se­cure with up­dates direct from Google,” said Wayne Piekarski, de­vel­oper ad­vo­cate for IoT, in a blog post.

Fo­cus­ing on IoT is im­por­tant for Google. But in­stead of bring­ing out a com­pletely dis­tinct model, the An­droid maker has pre­ferred to use its ex­ist­ing
