Announces GST-ready Oracle ERP Cloud for India

Oracle ERP Cloud delivers built-in features to facilitate compliance with new GST regulations, provides native support for GST Network integration and reporting, and support for local requirements including withholding, payment processing, and statutory reporting.

To help customers successfully manage this transformation, trained and certified Oracle ERP Cloud consultants from Oracle partners, including Clover Infotech, Deloitte, Filix Consulting, KPIT, KPMG, and Price water house Coopers, are currently engaged with customers.

Oracle ERP Cloud delivers embedded analytics, contextual social collaboration and a deviceindependent mobile experience. Importantly, Oracle ERP Cloud will now enable Indian firms to administer and leverage the significant GST process changes, including tax calculations, liability accounting, recovery, settlement and reporting. The availability of Oracle ERP Cloud in India reflects Oracle’s support of the government’s Make in India initiative.

“Global adoption of our leading Oracle ERP Cloud continues to accelerate,” said Safra Catz, CEO, Oracle. “We expect this trend to grow in India as customers can now take advantage of Oracle ERP Cloud’s comprehensive tax management capabilities, fully integrated with core ERP functions, to help make better business decisions and address regulatory changes driven by the new GST.”

Validates Oracle Cloud Platform for India Stack

Oracle Cloud Platform has been validated to develop applications using India Stack services. Key to the country’s “Digital India” vision, India Stack is a set of APIs that allows developers working with government, businesses, and startups to utilize a unique digital Infrastructure to deliver secure presence-less, paperless, and cashless service

delivery. With this validation, developers and partners can leverage Oracle Cloud at Customer to create and test next generation cloud applications that invoke core India Stack APIs, including Aadhaar Authentication and eKYC, eSign and DigiLocker.

With this validation, developers gain ultimate choice and flexibility of where to deploy their modern India Stack-based applications - inside their own datacenter, in the Oracle Cloud, or in a traditional on-premises environment. Leveraging Oracle’s Cloud PaaS and IaaS capabilities, Oracle Cloud at Customer offerings enable customers to innovate faster, while meeting regulatory, data sovereignty and residency requirements behind their firewall. With a comprehensive, integrated portfolio of platform services, the offering enables users to increase productivity and lower costs. India Stack APIs can also be leveraged with Oracle SaaS applications for India specific enhancements.

Demonstrating the strength of the India Stack movement, daily transactions have already topped 20 million and are expected to soon reach more than 100 million. Early adopters of the India Stack already include innovative developers participating in the Oracle Startup Cloud Accelerator (OSCA) program, such as ezeDox, a startup that is changing the way documents and related processes are produced, stored, and consumed digitally.

Announces India datacenter for an India-based Cloud

Oracle announced it will expand its cloud services in India over the next six to nine months with plans for an Oracle data center in India. The data center is likely to come up in Maharashtra.

Over the coming months Oracle will be reviewing proposals from government and business partners to provide customers with the capability to build and move workloads to an India-based cloud. The services will offer uncompromised security and performance at a significant price advantage over both existing on-premises infrastructure and competitive cloud offerings.

Oracle’s expanded infrastructure footprint is a result of tremendous customer demand.

“Our customers and partners in India have trusted their businesses and mission- critical workloads to the Oracle Cloud for years,” said Thomas Kurian, president of product development, Oracle. “With this expansion we will be able to further support customer choice adding to capabilities already available through deployments of Oracle Cloud at Customer, as well as other Oracle Cloud data center regions in Asia Pacific.”
