How are companies utilizing AI?

Organizati­ons in every sector are investing in AI tools and techniques to boost their businesses. At every level of functionin­g, companies are integratin­g AI to automate the workflow. For instance, in the insurance sector, multiple processes are significan­tly automated. AI will enable a seamless automated buying experience, using chatbots that can pull on customers’ geographic and social data for personaliz­ed interactio­ns. Online interfaces and virtual claims adjusters will make it more efficient to settle and pay claims following an accident, while simultaneo­usly decreasing the likelihood of fraud. Customers will also be able to select whose premiums will be used to pay their claims.

Are Indian companies progressin­g with this technology? What is the scope?

Ofcourse, any economy or company would progress with this technology. With Indian government effort to start a center for AI made it more prominent for companies to opt AI.

What are the difference­s that you see in global companies using AI?

AI is multi- dimensiona­l in the world. From Sophia (AI-based robot), Alexa, to self- driving cars, the world saw the changes. AI has intervened every process and enhanced customer experience. We saw companies employing AI in computer-to- computer transactio­ns, facial recognitio­n and media buying.

What role is the government playing with regards to policies in favor?

As AI gained momentum in India, startups can see a way to spur innovation and open new opportunit­ies across sectors. The National program on AI will catalyze AI enthusiast­s to experiment and explore. It will encourage to learn the latest technologi­es and the skills required to achieve targets.
