Enthusiastic Response Gte-delhi – 2018 Leaves EXHIBITORS in High Spirits
The New Year began with a vibrant Garment Technology Expo – 2018, held from 19 to 22 January at the NSIC Exhibition Ground in New Delhi. As one of the biggest events in the textile and apparel industry, the expo displayed a variety of the latest sophisticated machines and bespoke equipment for the sector. The enormous turnout, even on the opening day of the event, was encouraging for the industry. There were inquisitive visitors, anxious buyers, and even curious students of fashion technology who swarmed the stalls questioning the exhibitors.
Over 250 companies had gathered from different parts of the globe to participate in GTE-2018 for four days to display their varieties of machinery in the garment sector. They were happily inundated with business inquiries, proposals, and expressions of interest by buyers. The participating companies displayed sewing and embroidery machines, button attaching machines, digital printing machines, unique hanger systems, form finishers for jackets and trousers, thread and yarn, and anything and everything designed to revolutionise the functioning of the garment industry.
Team Perfect Sourcing interacted with many delegates. Although all exhibitors had something unique to display, the common feedback given by them was their satisfaction with the response that the event received and the enquiries that flowed in. The other common topic discussed was the government policies for boosting the sector.
Many in the industry were concerned about pollution and some were showcasing environment-friendly machines. Others appeared keen to contribute to the Government’s ‘Make in India’ programme. General anxiousness was noted about the dearth of skilled human resource in the industry, one issue that the latest technology is able to address well. However, the exhibitors’ universal emphasis was on offering machines that could help in increasing efficiency and productivity.
