I think that this trade war between the US and China would impact India’s apparel sector as the business money from China will direct towards India if not the US. The apparel export industry should also come back to its growth path as the western buyers are looking for a lot of diversity and India is offering the same. India although should capitalize and match up to China’s cost structure as well.

The biggest challenge for the industry right now is that there is unhealthy and unfair competition from China though the demand is good. As far as loopholes is concerned the Government should reduce the tax recently levied on the imported goods. Regarding the sourcing, it will be a bit higher as people will be looking at other vendors for new business opportunities.
