Tata Power is selling its interest in certain overseas coal and power infrastructure assets. It has signed option agreements with Indonesian conglomerate Bakrie Group to sell a 5% stake in coal miner Kaltim Prima and its entire 30% in power infrastructure cos related to Kaltim Prima to reduce debt and improve cash flow. The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) announced the Fifth US-India Energy Partnership Summit, which is scheduled to take place from September 30 - 1 October 2014 in Washington, DC, during PM Narendra Modi’s visit to the US and in the wake of UN Secretary General’s Climate Summit. The focus of the dialogue was to accelerate the growth and development of sustainable energy partnerships. The Australian government cleared the proposed Carmichael coal mine project of Adani Mining in the Galilee Basin in central Queensland. This is expected to provide electricity for up to 100 million people in India.
