Sen­si­tiv­ity to the en­vi­ron­ment is cen­tral to NTPC’s growth and per­for­mance: NTPC CMD

Gur­deep Singh, CMD, NTPC, ad­dress­ing share­hold­ers at the 40th AGM of the com­pany in Delhi, said, “NTPC is one of the en­gines of eco­nomic growth. The more the econ­omy grows, the greater the op­por­tu­ni­ties for NTPC. En­vi­ron­men­tal sus­tain­abil­ity will be our fo­cus area and NTPC re­mains committed to take care of the so­ci­ety, es­pe­cially the com­mu­nity in the neigh­bour­hood of its busi­ness units by im­prov­ing the qual­ity of life of the peo­ple and pro­mot­ing in­clu­sive growth.” He said In­dia is the fastest grow­ing ma­jor econ­omy in the world with a huge po­ten­tial ap­petite for power con­sump­tion. NTPCs in­stalled ca­pac­ity to­day stands at 47,228 MW, in­clud­ing 800 MW hy­dro and 360 MW of so­lar ca­pac­ity.

En­ergy ef­fi­cient light­ing so­lu­tions for NTPC

NTPC and En­ergy Ef­fi­ciency Ser­vices Ltd (EESL) have joined hands for im­ple­men­ta­tion of en­ergy ef­fi­cient LED light­ing so­lu­tions for all NTPC’s projects, sta­tions and of­fices across the coun­try with an MoU signed by SK Roy, ED (OS), NTPC and AK Gupta, Direc­tor (Fi­nance), EESL. The MoU’s ob­jec­tive is to en­able EESL to pro­vide end-to-end, state of the art en­ergy ef­fi­cient LED light­ing and so­lu­tions in ac­cor­dance with re­quire­ments of NTPC.
