Tamil Nadu gets ‘world’s largest so­lar plant’

A 648-MW so­lar power plant at Ka­muthi in Ra­manatha­pu­ram, set up by Adani Group at an in­vest­ment of Rs 4,536 crore was re­cently in­au­gu­rated. Ac­cord­ing to an of­fi­cial re­lease, the fa­cil­ity is con­nected with Ka­muthi 400 kV sub-sta­tion of Tantransco. An Adani Group press re­lease said that the fa­cil­ity was the world’s largest so­lar power plant. The plant com­prises 380,000 foun­da­tions, 25,00,000 so­lar mod­ules, 27,000 MT of struc­ture, 576 in­vert­ers, 154 trans­form­ers and 6,000 km of ca­bles.
