UJALA: LED tube­lights, en­ergy ef­fi­cient fans in Delhi

Tata Power Delhi Dis­tri­bu­tion Ltd (TPDDL) launched en­ergy ef­fi­cient fans and LED tube lights for con­sumers of Delhi un­der the Un­nat Jeevan by Af­ford­able LEDs and Ap­pli­ances for All (UJALA) pro­gramme. The UJALA scheme is be­ing im­ple­mented by En­ergy Ef­fi­ciency Ser­vices Ltd (EESL), a JV un­der the ad­min­is­tra­tion of Min­istry of Power, Gov­ern­ment of In­dia. In Delhi, EESL plans to dis­trib­ute over 20,000 en­ergy ef­fi­cient fans, 2.5 lakh en­ergy ef­fi­cient LED tube lights and eight lakh more LED bulbs to peo­ple on up­front pay­ment. It is es­ti­mated that over 15 lakh con­sumers will ben­e­fit from the scheme. UJALA do­mes­tic ap­pli­ances can be pur­chased from all the dis­tri­bu­tion cen­tres spread through­out Delhi. The list of dis­tri­bu­tion cen­tres is avail­able on www.ujala.gov.in.
