Short term power market scenario for April 2017
In the collective short-term power market, the purchase of electricity is found to have risen in the region of East, North East, West, South, and North. This is because of the rise in temperature in April. Though the north also registered showers hence it registered a 2% rise in price as compared to the last month of March.
At Indian Energy Exchange (IEX) the total traded volume in April accounted for 384795 MWh which has increased by 7% with reference to March. This is marginal as 20% traded volume increased in March as compared to February.
