Short term power mar­ket sce­nario for April 2017

In the col­lec­tive short-term power mar­ket, the pur­chase of elec­tric­ity is found to have risen in the re­gion of East, North East, West, South, and North. This is be­cause of the rise in tem­per­a­ture in April. Though the north also reg­is­tered show­ers hence it reg­is­tered a 2% rise in price as com­pared to the last month of March.

At In­dian En­ergy Ex­change (IEX) the to­tal traded vol­ume in April ac­counted for 384795 MWh which has in­creased by 7% with ref­er­ence to March. This is marginal as 20% traded vol­ume in­creased in March as com­pared to Fe­bru­ary.
