A round-up of im­por­tant in­dus­try events of the past month

Crys­tal Crop Pro­tec­tion Lim­ited, an R&D based crop pro­tec­tion man­u­fac­tur­ing and mar­ket­ing com­pany, has strength­ened its in­sec­ti­cide and her­bi­cide port­fo­lio by ac­quir­ing the brands Fu­radan, Splen­dour, Metc-il and Affin­ity Force from FMC Cor­po­ra­tion. The com­pany has also signed a Let­ter of In­tent with Key­gene N.V., Nether­lands to ex­plore a strate­gic col­lab­o­ra­tion for de­vel­op­ing prod­ucts through shar­ing of tech­nol­ogy and novel breed­ing tech­niques that ben­e­fit farm­ers by in­creas­ing farm prof­itabil­ity. Com­ment­ing on the ac­qui­si­tion, Man­ag­ing Di­rec­tor Ankur Ag­gar­wal said, “We be­lieve in act­ing as an en­abler for In­dian farm­ers to im­prove their farm­ing in­come and this ac­qui­si­tion is a step in that di­rec­tion. Stay­ing true to our phi­los­o­phy of in­spir­ing growth for all our stake­hold­ers, we are open to such in­or­ganic growth op­por­tu­ni­ties in the fu­ture too.” This is the com­pany’s third ac­qui­si­tion in 2018 and th­ese col­lab­o­ra­tions are part of Crys­tal’s strat­egy to add value to its busi­ness and grow its mar­ket share.
